I choose the movie Four Brothers for my review because it was one of my favorite movies and I wanted to see what other people thought about it. I got the first review off of Rotten tomatoes and it is by a USA TODAY movie critic named Mike Clark. Clark liked the movie and disliked the movie saying that it was "Preposterous yet solidly entertaining". His review was confusing because he did not talk enough about the movie. But he did say that the movie gets bonus points for the specific scens in the movie. Clark is trying to prove that the director John Singleton is back after some of his dissapointing movies earlier this decade. His tone is excited and happy that Singleton finally made a movie which he could enjoy. Clark uses strong vocab to prove his knowledge of movies. which is pretty convincing. Like i siad before he talks way more about the director then he does the movie. It seems like Clark was a big fan of this director and is happy that he is back on top.
On the other hand, Stephen Hunter a Washington Post critic said that the movie was, " is loud, stupid, unrealistic, overdone, without a thought in its ugly little head and kind of enjoyable". The structure of this review is organized and well written. Hunter absolutely dispised the movie and is trying to say that It was just a dumb story with a lot of gun shots. the tone of the review is very negative towards this movie. Hunter was mainly focused on how dumb the plot was. I think these were referenced because the plot of the story is confusing and I understand why he would feel this way.
Clarks Review: "After Singleton overdoes it with horseplay to show how well the four get along, the movie takes off". I agree with this Quote because there are parts in the beginning of the movie where the brothers are just joking around and playing pond hockey, but then when little Jack dies, the movie gets going and it is so intense and you do not want tot ake your eyes off the screen.
Hunters Review: "My favorite involved thugs with weapons so advanced the SEAL teams aren't using them in the sandbox yet. They turn the Mercer family homestead into a lace doily for about 10 minutes". I agree with this because there were low life gangsters with M-16's that only seal team 6 would be using. And they were good at shooting them like they could be on seal team 6 but instead there shooting down a house in the streets of Detriot.
If I have not seen this movie yet the more convincing critic would have been Hunter because he went into more detail about why he did not like the movie. Clark just said that it was really good and then rambled on about the director for four paragraphs. Hunter even gave pretty much the whole summary of the movie and he pointed out things that were just stupid to him.
I would include the actors because I believed they were all so great and worked so well together. When I watched the movie I truly belived I was watching 4 actual brothers and I would catch myself during the movie smiling because I thought about me and my brothers and they were acting just like us. I would also include the camera because there were scenes throughout the movie that were just so spectacular. All in all, Four Brothers is truly one of my favorite movies because I love the dedication the brothers had to finding their mothers killer
